Services

EOL DOULa Services

Here is a list of services I offer in my End-of-Life Doula Packages. Please feel free to reach out with any questions about the services listed, or other requests.

Advanced Directives

I will help your loved one create a comprehensive Advanced Directive and Living Will (also called a Soul Directive) that outlines their end-of-life wishes and preferences.

Bucket List

I will work with your loved one to create a bucket list of things to do before passing away. This can be a great way to focus on positive experiences and create lasting memories.

Obituaries

This is an important part of everyone’s legacy. I will help your loved one outline an obituary that accurately reflects their life and accomplishments.

Personalized Goodbyes

I will assist your loved one in writing love letters to family and friends. These letters are a meaningful way for your loved one to express their love and this simple ritual provides extraordinary magic during their final days.

Funerals and Eulogies

Another important part of your loved one’s legacy, we will have fun creating a ritual that reflects their values and beliefs. FUN is in FUNERAL!

Vigil, Death Bed Ambience

We will discuss and document your loved one’s wishes to create a peaceful and calm environment during their final days.

Legacy Work

As your loved one nears the end of life, finding meaning in the life they have lived and how they would like to be remembered can be uplifting and insightful. Exploring and sharing their life story helps them to appreciate the richness of their life and their impact on others. Together we will explore accomplishments and formative stories, as well as address life’s difficulties and regrets. A legacy project allows the person to leave behind an artifact that can help others continue to connect to them long after the death. It is an opportunity to preserve personal and family history and to inspire the future.

After-Death Options

We’ll talk about it all from donating organs, to water cremation, to turning ashes into keepsake diamonds.

Home Modifications

Napa’s Share The Care will inspect the home and suggest/provide safety supplies, ie bathroom handrails, a free local service.

In-Home Care Agency

I’ll be another set of eyes and ears regarding the agency of your loved one.

Medical Advocacy

Accompanying your loved one to doctor appointments, and taking notes.

Companionship, Active Listening

Death is a strange thing and doesn’t provide us with a dress rehearsal. There is no right or wrong way to live through this final time. As your loved one’s doula, I’ll create a space for open dialogue and guide them down whatever path they choose.

Short-Term Memory

We will do puzzles, play games, and, of course, Virtual Reality to stimulate neurons.

Personal Finance

I’ll be honest, I am terrible at accounting, however, I can review your loved one’s spending and expense patterns and give you the results.

Virtual Reality Therapy

I’ll take your loved one to places they want to go without leaving their home- like the Great Wall of China or to swim with dolphins in the Caribbean. VR technology can help elders improve cognitive function, it is magical at reducing stress, anxiety, and symptoms of depression by giving them a sense of excitement and adventure.
